A MAN found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in Powys has appeared in court to appeal his conviction.
Dominic Hughes, 53, denied sexual assault on a female in Lion Street, Brecon, on July 20, 2023, but was found guilty at his trial on November 8 last year.
Hughes immediately appealed his conviction but a warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to show up for his sentencing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court.
Hughes was arrested in the Cambridgeshire area last week and brought before Judge Simon Mills in custody at Merthyr on Friday, February 2.
Judge Mills set an appeal against conviction date for March 15 at Merthyr. If the appeal is unsuccessful Hughes will then be sentenced.
He was granted bail on condition of residence at Gregory Avenue, Coventry.
