A TRIAL date has been set for a Powys man accused of assaulting a police officer.
Benjamin Cheyanne Chesterton, 32, denies one offence of assaulting PC Michael Clements, a Dyfed Powys Police officer, on December 12 last year.
Chesterton, of Lewis Place, New Radnor, initially appeared at appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court in January, where he denied assaulting PC Clements and elected to have his trial heard at the crown court.
At Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday, February 2, he maintained his not guilty plea.
A three-day trial is due to start in Merthyr on June 4.
He was granted unconditional bail until his trial date.
