LLANDRINDOD’S Albert Hall theatre is an iconic and stunning venue, but there’s definitely something a little haunting about it.
In May, you can take part in a ghost hunt at the Ithon Road venue. The Albert Hall Theatre Ghost Hunt takes place on Saturday, May 25, from 8pm-2am.
“Join Past Souls Paranormal as we venture to Wales to investigate this stunning and haunted theatre for the first time,” said a spokesperson.
“Complimentary tea/coffee/soft drinks and snacks will be provided and you’ll be given time to go off and explore the many areas of the theatre on your own.
“Built in 1896, the Albert Hall is a theatre with a rich past. The oldest venue in Mid Wales, some esteemed people have graced its famous boards, including two Prime Ministers and British suffragette founder Emmeline Pankhurst.
“Four thousand men from the Royal Army Medical Corps during World War I were billeted in the town and the hall would be used as an entertainment venue for them on most nights. Troops returned to the area in 1939 as World War II raged on, with many of the troops who took to the stage becoming household names.
“Haunted by several ghosts, visitors to the hall have reported seeing apparitions of soldiers and dark shadows. Loud bangs and whistles are also heard regularly.”
Tickets are £25 per person and can be booked at https://ticketlab.co.uk/event/id/20880#/.
