A POWYS man will be sentenced at the crown court after he attacked his estranged wife in the middle of the night.
Kirk James Harris attacked his ex, “unleashing multiple punches to her head and face”, after breaking into her house when she refused to let him in.
Harris, 38, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 23.
Prosecutor Helen Tench said a 999 call was made to police after Harris returned to the family home in Kerry at around 3am on January 22.

“He became aggressive, smashed through a double glazed patio door, charged upstairs and jumped on top of her,” said Mrs Tench.
“The victim feared she was going to die."
Rob Hanratty, acting for Harris, said his client admitted he “lost it” and “caused mayhem”.
He had moved out over Christmas and had recently lost his grandfather, who had raised him.
“He sincerely regrets the incident,” said Mr Hanratty.
Magistrates told Harris they were committing his case to Mold Crown Court as they felt the incident was “beyond our sentencing powers”.
He was granted conditional bail. He is due to be sentenced in Mold on February 15.
