Plans for a set of new holiday lodges in Powys have been rejected due to pollution concerns.
Powys County Council rejected plans to build 10 new holiday lodges near Llandrindod Wells due to concerns about how the development could affect the River Wye.
The proposal would have seen a a set of new buildings being put up at Careg-Wiber farm near the A483.
The proposals would have seen "the development of 10 timber lodges (of which six would be three bedroomed and four would be four bedroomed); five camping pods; a small utility building with reception; essentials shop; reception; with hardstanding for arriving guests."

Head of Property, Planning and Public Protection, Gwilym Davies added that "insufficient information has been submitted to demonstrate that the proposed development would not have a detrimental impact upon Protected Species, namely badger and water vole".
The decision comes after the developers had adjusted their original plans which "incorporated 17 lodges and seven camping pods placed more extensively across the site."
According to design and access statement submitted to Powys County Council: "The original scheme was discussed with the council, and received positive feedback in principle, subject to amendments with respect to the scale, numbers of lodges proposed, their siting of and design of the structures."
