AN ONLINE fundraiser to help cover the costs of the funeral of one of Powys football's past greats has been launched.
John Draycott passed away on January 2 aged 86, prompting memories among fans of Knighton Town, Llanidloes Town and Rhayader Town who witnessed the defender's displays during the 1960s.
Shrewsbury Town and Wrexham fans also paid the former Shrewsbury respect by applauding him during the 86th minute of the club's English FA Cup tie last week.
The funeral will take place at Shrewsbury Crematorium on February 2nd.

Daughter Clare Gannon said: "Sadly our dad passed away on January 2nd. His death come as a shock that we were not prepared for.
"We as a family have spent the last two years caring for mum after her brain surgery and still caring for her now and also devoting time to dad.
"Dad played for Shrewsbury Town, Llanidloes Town and Knighton Town and was very proud of his football career
"We are trying our best to give him a nice send off but sadly due to mum now being disabled after a brain injury money is very tight so we are asking for help.
"Even a small amount would be a help to give our dad the best send off he deserves. Dad was such a lovely, caring man who would help anyone, he was a brilliant grandad to all his grandkids, he is very missed by them all and he really does deserve the best."
