SOME Powys motorists may face extended journeys at the end of January following the announcement of a road closure.
The closure of the B4385 will affect those people who live in and around Knighton for a week, say Shropshire Council.
The diversion put in place by the council is about 20 miles long, and takes drivers through Knighton.
“Work to repair a section of the B4385 between Purslow and Hopton Heath – ahead of it being surfaced dressed later this year – will be carried out from January 23-31,” the council said in a tweet posted on Thursday.
“Work will take place from 9.30am to 4pm each day – though there’ll be no weekend working.
“During these times the road will be closed and a signed diversion in place. Access will be provided for properties and business within the closure.
“Depending on your vehicle type you may be able to choose your own shorter diversion route.”
