A POWYS man has elected to have his trial heard at the crown court after he pleaded not guilty to assaulting a police officer.
Benjamin Cheyanne Chesterton, 32, denied one offence of assaulting an emergency worker when he appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 3.
The offence is alleged to have taken place on December 12.
Chesterton, of Lewis Place, New Radnor, denied assaulting PC Clements and elected to have his trial heard in the higher court.
He was granted unconditional bail and will make an initial appearance at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on January 31.
