A main road near Welshpool remains closed as the floods from Storm Henk begin to subside.
The A490 remains closed due to flooding today (January 4) even as most of the others have now reopened, as the river levels in Powys drop after the flooding caused by Storm Henk.
The road has been closed since Tuesday afternoon. This is has seen the AA90 closed in both directions due to flooding from A458 (Sarn Bryn Caled roundabout) to the Leighton turn off.

Other major roads that have been closed such as the A483 have now reopened and traffic is running normally again.
The flood warnings that were in place on the River Severn have now been lifted although flood alerts remain in force on seven different rivers.
These include the Upper Towy, Vyrnwy catchment, Lower Severn catchment in Powys, River Lugg in Powys, River Usk in Powys, Rivers Wye and Monnow in Monmouthshire and River Wye in Powys.
