MEMBERS of Newtown Amateur Dramatic Society are preparing for a momentous year.
2024 sees the 90th year for the Newtown Amateur Dramatic Society which has been a part of community life for nine decades and still going strong.
On Friday, September 7th 1934, a group of people gathered together at the recreation office, Community House, Severn Place, to discuss the possibility of forming a society which would be solely devoted to the interests of drama and presenting plays to the public.
Thanks to those people NADS still perform plays in Powys Theatre on Canal Road to this day.
