SUPPORTERS of Meifod Football Club and Welsh football memorabilia collectors can add a unique stocking filler to their Christmas wish list this year.
The MMP Central Wales League North club inspired local artist John Pearson-Phillips to craft a unique Christmas card depicting the Kings in matchday action with several copies still available.
Mr Pearson-Phillips said: "This was a really interesting piece to work on as I had to think about how to turn a football match into a Christmas card and obviously had to make sure it was clear Meifod were winning.
"It took quite a bit of thought to make the opposition look like they were getting beat, without it being silly or humiliating.

"I really enjoyed doing the piece and working with the team, they are a lovely group of young men.
"For me, I would usually focus on commissioned portrait work so doing something different was really interesting and I will be looking forward to working with Meifod FC again in the future."
The design has proved a bit hit with players and fans alike.

Manager Chris Edwards said: "I saw that John had created some stunning Christmas Cards of the village, including one of my house, so I arranged to buy the original work from him.
"While I was collecting the work he told me more about the local work he had for Christmas, so I asked him if he’d be interested in doing something similar for the football team.
"We are always looking for ways to engage with the local community, and this seemed like a nice way of doing so. John was really keen, and came along to our game that very afternoon.
"Thankfully we won the game, so there was plenty of goals for John to catch, and he has created a fantastic image that the players and their families have enjoyed sending as festive cards.."
