A LLANDRINDOD Wells man who recently celebrated his 100th birthday has been made an honorary life fellow of a local club.
Llandrindod Wells Probus Club chairman Geoffrey Lloyd presented the special award to local resident Kenneth Lush on behalf of the club on Tuesday, December 12, at the Metropole Hotel.
Ken received his congratulations from King Charles for reaching his milestone birthday.

He was originally from Castle Cary in Somerset, where the family owned a butchers’ shop, he attended private school and later became a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm, flying the Fairey Swordfish torpedo bomber from aircraft carriers.
He served on operational tours throughout the world and met his wife Diana when he was serving in Northern Ireland, where she was in the Royal Navy. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant.
“Ken is the longest serving member of probus and we wish him many more years of health and happiness,” said a club spokesperson.
