Llanfair public toilets have been closed for a week to allow the town council to carry out planned refurbishment works.
On Monday, December 11, Llanfair Caereinion’s public toilets were closed by the town council and have remained either entirely or partly closed while refurbishment works to the facilities are underway.
The works comprise renovation, installation of baby changing units, Dementia Friendly colour scheme and disabled fittings, water bottle filling point, creation of a cleaners cupboard and other minor works.
In town council announced they were looking for companies to complete the repair and maintenance work on the toilets in August 2023, with the planned works now underway and scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.

During the planning stage, Town Clerk Robert Robinson said: “It’s part of the council’s regular job and role within the community.
"These are the kind of jobs that residents will quickly notice when they are not properly maintained. They may be small but they go a long way in keeping the town aesthetically pleasing.”
The town council added that it apologies for the inconvenience and will update residents as work progresses.
