THE pupils of Franksbridge Primary School have had the pleasure of working alongside ceramic artist, Jody McPartlin, of Stonefield Glass, to create an eye-catching and patriotic mosaic welcoming visitors to the school.
The mosaic was designed and created as a wellbeing project in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The children chose Cymru as the subject to express their sense of ‘cynefin’ or belonging.

The pupils, who are working towards the Welsh language ‘Gwobr Arian’ award, included images that celebrate Welsh agriculture, industry, music, language and landscapes.
“We are so proud of our Cymru mosaic,” said the school.
“It is the first thing that visitors see when they come to our school and it shows them how proud we are of our beautiful country.”
