A popular Indian restaurant in Newtown has been recognised as the best in Wales at a glittering awards ceremony in London.
The Red Mango in Pool Road has won this year's Best Asian Restaurant in Wales gong at the Asian Curry Awards.
The awards are considered the most prestigious in the Asian culinary world and are dubbed the "Curry Oscars”.
More than 200 restaurants from across the UK made the initial shortlist for the awards which was then whittled down to the top 100 thanks to a public vote. The eventual finalists were selected with The Red Mango being the only Powys representative on that list.
The Red Mango has had a phenomenal start after being open for only two years but the staff have already picked up their second prestigious national award in a matter of months.

The restaurant thanked the “amazing” support they got from customers, whose votes went towards their nomination for the award. “Every week we get full bookings, over 100 people book every Sunday, every day we get a good amount of bookings," a spokesperson for the restaurant said.
This year’s awards were held with much fanfare at the prestigious Grosvenor House in Mayfair in London and saw appearances from well-known national figures such as London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
