A ROAD traffic collision has occurred on the A470 in Powys in the early hours of this morning, with authorities warning the road will be closed for some time.
The crash happened between Newbridge-on-Wye and Rhayader, with police reporting it shortly after 3.30am.
The accident happened where the main A470 road meets the A4081.
“A470 (is) closed in both directions between Newbridge-on-Wye and Rhayader, at the junction with the A4081,” tweeted Traffic Wales.

Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Road closed; A4081 junction and Newbridge-on-Wye is closed due to a road traffic collision.
“Please avoid the area and find an alternative route.”
The collision is the second in as many days to occur on the A470 in Radnorshire, following an RTC involving at least two vehicles that occurred on Friday evening, November 17, between Builth Wells and Newbridge.
