A Powys town drama group has shared almost £8,000 with schools, clubs and choirs after disbanding after years of giving residents a taste of the performing arts.
The final curtain fell on Llanidloes Drama Group on Thursday, October 26, when former members gathered at Llanidloes Town Hall to distribute the remaining £7,700 of funding to local performing arts-related groups.
Cheques were presented to representatives from Llanidloes High School, Llanidloes Primary School, Llidiartywaen Young Farmers Club, Trefeglwys Young Farmers Club, Dragonettes Cheerleader Group, The Wesley Singers, Tenovus Cancer Choir, Choirs for Good and Llanidloes Acapella Choir.
Last year, former members were invited to attend a meeting to discuss the winding up of the drama group and ideas on how to distribute the available funds after performances stopped 10 years ago.
