A young Powys couple say their dream has become a reality after taking over an award-winning company that produces one of the best cheeses in the world.
Daisy Bank Dairy's Glenn Lloyd and fiancée Sandie, from Llandyssil, have announced that they have acquired Montgomery-based Trefaldwyn Cheese from friends Clare and Gareth Jones "who entrusted us with this precious legacy".
Teacher-turned-cheesemaker Clare said: "After four years of hard work creating Trefaldwyn Cheese, I am delighted to say that I have handed over the reins to Glenn and Sandie from Daisy Bank Dairy.
"I am really looking forward to seeing Trefaldwyn Cheese grow from strength to strength."

Third generation farmer Glenn thanked his "incredible" team, friends, and family as well as customers for their "unwavering support" as the business takes on the next chapter of Trefaldwyn Cheese.
"Our friendship with Clare and her husband Gareth began at the very start of our journey with Daisy Bank. Being both local small scale food producers, we have all become fond friends, and their support for us has been invaluable.
"Our cheese making journey started where we honed our skills for four months before officially taking the reins in early August. The journey has been one of dedication and hard work, as we meticulously transformed our new purpose-built cheese production facilities with the upmost care and attention to detail.
"It's been a bittersweet transition for Clare, and a deeply emotional decision for all of us. We're deeply humbled by her trust in us to carry forward the legacy she passionately built from the ground up over the past five years. "Trefaldwyn Cheese has garnered prestigious accolades, including two-star Great Taste Awards and the title of Best Welsh Cheese in the World Cheese Awards.
"Throughout the summer, we collaborated closely with Clare, pouring our hearts and expertise into producing this award-winning creamy blue cheese. We're immensely proud of our collective efforts.
"Our commitment is simple: we will preserve the essence of Trefaldwyn Cheese, brand and product. Every batch will maintain the same unparalleled quality that Clare meticulously crafted. Although, being small batch and artisan, no two batches are the same, which is what all of Trefaldwyn customers love, as do we."
Glenn told local cheese lovers that the first batches will be ready to buy this week.
