LOCAL heroes who work in the healthcare sector have been recognised for their efforts with awards to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
Llanafanfawr Community Council presented local NHS heroes with medals to celebrate the milestone.
Recipients included Brian Tolley, a Wales Air Ambulance volunteer, Samantha Price who collected the award as a member of the Builth and Rhayader district nurses team, as well as Alvina Beehan, Paget Silvester, Joy Groves and Ffion Corfield.
The community council, which represents the community based near Builth, nominated individuals or teams who had supported their local community, which has benefited from their continuing help. The awards were presented by community council chairman Elwyn Jones.
