The owner of a Newtown town centre five-star bed and breakfast has said "with a very heavy heart" that she is selling the award-winning business to retire and put family first.
Parkers House Restaurant and B&B's Tina Lovatt paid tribute to the "absolutely wonderful" staff and customers who have been with her every step of the way since transforming the Shortbridge Street business from a "dilapidated state" 11 years ago.
Offers in the region of £500,000 are being invited for the well-known business located which has a proven track record and boasts a five-star Bed and Breakfast award. Whilst the 70-cover restaurant has a five-star hygiene rating and music and entertainment licence.
"I'm not young anymore, I'm tired and aching,” Tina told customers last week.
“I want to spend quality time with my growing family before I miss out too much on time I can’t get back.
"Me and all Parkers staff have worked tirelessly, keeping up with the day-to-day running, seven days a week, under pressure of being short staffed to keep them both to maintaining the standard they are now.
"There's so much more potential in Parkers that I just can't commit to any longer. If by next March Parkers hasn't sold, then I have to make big decisions on where the restaurant is heading.
"Your support and loyalty over the years has been amazing. I'm not everyone's cup tea or coffee but I do try my very best to please everyone which is impossible whilst running a business. But it is now time to put my family first.
"To all my staff I love you all so very much and appreciate everything you do for me.
"My customers, you're all amazing. Thank you."
All fixtures and fittings are included in the sale of Parkers which has two off-street car parking spaces at the rear of the property.
