Residents in an area of Newtown who have had to put up with years of poorly conditioned roads have been told that resurfacing works will start on Monday (October 16).
Work at Brynmor Parc, Brynmor Avenue and Brynmor Close near Newtown Hospital is scheduled to last six weeks but there could be delays due to bad weather.
County councillor Pete Lewington said: “This means following many years of having to put up with a poorly conditioned road, works will take place, and the council will take responsibility for the road going forward.

“Several residents have been in contact with me regarding progress on the adoption of these roads and associated works, including the completion of the resurfacing of the roads so I thought I would let all residents know the latest position.
“I am informed that the works can be carried out without the need to close the road but to help these works proceed as smoothly and quickly as possible the contractors [SDW] have asked that you do not park any vehicles on the road during working hours.”
