A Mid Wales motoring event has successfully raised over £8,000 for Wales Air Ambulance.
The annual Mach Run saw hundreds of cars join a 50 mile convoy, starting from Machynlleth on September 24, for what organisers have described as a “record breaking year” for the event.
Just over a week after the 2023 drive, organisers revealed on social media that the total amount raised from this year’s event was £8,284, all of which will be donated to Wales Air Ambulance.
The amount is the highest the event has ever raised in a single year and will add to the £30,000 total that Mach Run has raised for the charity since its creation in 2018.
Founder of the Mach Run, Jason McCauley, said via social media: “I’m absolutely delighted to be able to announce that we have achieved another record year in 2023.
“Thanks to everyone involved and everyone who took part.
“I used to love seeing the car park taken over by Rally GB with 100s of cars and people walking around when I was younger, it's great to be able see the car park full of petrol heads and sports cars 30 years on.”
