A POWYS teenager who stole a car and crashed it while over the drink drive limit has had his court order extended following a breach.

Taylor Jonathan Bradley, 19, was given a 12-month community order in June after he admitted a total of five offences in relation to the crash, which occurred in Builth Wells last November.

Bradley stole a Mercedes Benz on November 16, 2022, which he subsequently crashed into a pub. He was over the drink drive limit at the time and was also found in possession of cocaine. He had no licence and no insurance either.

As part of his punishment, Bradley, of Llwynbrain Villas, Howey, near Llandrindod Wells, was ordered to obey by a period of alcohol abstinence, he must complete rehabilitation sessions and 180 hours of unpaid work. He was also banned from driving for a year.

OTHER NEWS:

Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court heard on Wednesday, September 27, that Bradley breached his order by failing to attend an appointment with probation in July and failed to attend an unpaid work session in August. He admitted breaching the order.

Matthew Ridler, acting for Bradley, told magistrates: “It is his first breach, and the proposal is to add more unpaid work hours to it.

“He has been forthcoming. Regarding the unpaid work, he was ill, but had not registered with a doctor so he could not get a medical note.”

County Times:

Probation officer Donna Davies said that since the absence, Bradley had attended six of six probation appointments. “He has completed 54.5 hours of unpaid work and he is due to commence his rehabilitation days in October.

"He has been engaging."

Magistrates said they were extending Bradley’s order by 15 hours and ordered him to pay £60 costs.
