A DECORATED ex-serviceman from Powys who denied assaulting a man outside a supermarket has been acquitted at his trial.
David John Rawsthorne, 48, had denied a charge of assault on Karl Evans, occasioning him actual bodily harm.
The incident occurred outside the Aldi store in Llandrindod Wells on November 5, 2021.
Rawsthorne, of Tremont Road, Llandrindod, initially appeared at Landrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court in October 2022 where he denied the offence and elected a crown court trial.
The trial was held at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court last week, where he was found not guilty.
