The A483 has been closed after a crash between an HGV and a van left the latter on its roof.
Dyfed-Powys Police closed the Newtown bypass this afternoon (Thursday, September 14) after the two-vehicle crash between the Kerry and Dolfor roundabouts.
Eyewitnesses have reported that due to the severity of the crash and road closure that there are long queues going into Newtown.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews were at the scene and that thankfully no one was trapped in the vehicle.
They said: "Crews are responding to a road traffic collision involving one heavy goods vehicle and one light goods vehicle. The light goods vehicle was on its roof, however no persons were trapped in either vehicle.
"This incident is currently ongoing and crew members are assisting with traffic management. The Trunk Road Agency is also in attendance.
"More information may be released when available."
Dyfed-Powys Police has recommended that the public avoid the area and find an altenative route.
