FOUR people from the Liverpool area were arrested following the theft of around £15,000 from the Co-op garage near Builth Wells over the weekend.
Police said that officers arrived on the scene within minutes of the incident, which is said to have occurred at around 2am on Saturday, August 19.
Four people, two men and two women, were then arrested on their return to Liverpool, after police identified the vehicle they were driving, a Nissan Qashqai.

“Four people have broken into the garage, on Station Road, Llanelwedd, at around 2am,” said Dyfed-Powys Police Chief Inspector Jacqui Lovatt.
“Officers got there within minutes. They had made off with cash takings, estimated to be about £15,000. We identified the vehicle and it was stopped on their return to Liverpool. Four people were arrested.
“CID then travelled up to interview them in Runcorn and they have now been charged.”
The four are due to appear for an onward remand hearing at Chester Magistrates’ Court today (August 21).
