THE Powys football scene has been rocked by news of the death of long-serving official Edward Parry, aged 71.
Mr Parry held a number of positions during the past few decades and was treasurer of the MMP Central Wales League upon the time of his passing last weekend.
League secretary Gareth Lloyd announced the sad news of the death of the Llanidloes based official.
Mr Lloyd said: "I have received the sad news that the treasurer of MMP Central Wales League Mr Edward Parry passed away over the weekend.
"As a mark of respect could all league clubs observe a minutes silence at all midweek and weekend matches."

Meanwhile Mr Parry's hometown club, Llanidloes Town, led the tributes.
A club statement read: "Everyone at the club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Edward Parry.
"Edward was a big part of Llanidloes Town FC over the years. He was a committee man and secretary and of course, first and foremost, a fan from a very early age.
"Ed went on to become a big part of the Central Wales Football Association and his contribution to football in the area was unsurpassed. He will be deeply missed by all."
