FOUR eateries around Powys have been awarded top marks in their latest food hygiene inspections.
The inspectors have once again been running their white gloves across the worktops of Powys' cafes, pubs and restaurants, and four in particular have come away with high approval ratings.
Andys Bread at Parc Derwen Fawr in Llanidloes and the Hanging Garden Cafe in Bethel Street, also in Llani, were both among the cafes, restaurants and canteens given five-star ratings.
And two takeaways have also been given top marks for their hygiene standards, including Hennighans Top Shop at Heol Maengwyn in Machynlleth, Powys, after a rating on August 2.

Pontneathvaughan Village Hall at Pontneathvaughan, on the very southern tip of the county, was also given a clean bill of health.
However, AMR Catering, at The Conservative Club in Hay-On-Wye's Lion Street and The Horseshoe Inn in Crickhowell were both ranked two out of five for hygiene by the inspectors.
It means that of Powys's 272 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 161 (59 per cent) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
