A pilot escaped serious harm after a light aircraft bounced on the runway of Welshpool airport.
According to the Air Accident Investigations Branch a light aeroplane had a lucky escape at the airport after bouncing on landing on May 15 this year.

In the report the investigation team they said that the aircraft “bounced on landing”, leading to it losing control at which point it “veered off the runway onto the grass”.
Thankfully from the report it appears no one was injured but there was substantial damage. They noted that the propeller was “left bent and the nose and right landing gear collapsed”.
The aircraft in question was Mooney M20K a light aircraft originally built in 1980.
According to the UK Civil Aviation Authority the aircraft is owned by a local man from Forden.
