A LOCAL travel firm is gearing up for an arduous fundraiser as they’ve set off on a bike ride from the top of Wales to the bottom this week.
Highway Adventures is embarking on the challenge to raise funds for Mid and North Powys Mind, the mental health charity.
The crew left on Wednesday (August 9), heading up to Holyhead, where they will begin their journey, hoping to raise £1,000.

“We have a passion for the outdoors and supporting our local community,” said a Highway Adventures spokesperson.
“So, we have a decided upon another challenge to raise money for a local mental health charity called Mid and North Powys Mind.
“The challenge is a bike ride from the top of Wales to the bottom. This is roughly 210 miles.
“We wanted to find a challenge that would be physically difficult as well as mentally tough. The reason for this is that life is tough, but it’s amazing what we can achieve when we work together and support our community.
“We chose Mind because mental health is something most people struggle with at some point in their life. We also want to raise awareness for the charity so more people know it’s there and can see some of the amazing stuff they do.”
Toby Weale, of Highway Adventures, is being joined on the north to south challenge by Steve Frost, Carwyn Williams, John Matthews, George Lloyd, as well as cousin Neil. Renowned Powys vlogger Simon ‘Jungle’ John will also join them on the journey, to document how they get on.
