A Newtown man has appeared in court charged with raping a teenage boy.
Thomas Evans, 35, of Oaklands Park, gave no plea to the offence when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, July 25.
He is accused of carrying out in March, last year, a sexual act on the teen when he did not consent, and Evans did not reasonably believe that he was consenting.
Given the seriousness of the alleged crime, magistrates sent the case to Mold Crown Court where a hearing will next take place on August 25.
Evans was ordered by the court not to contact the teen as part of his bail conditions.
