A POWYS fire station is looking for new recruits.
Machynlleth Fire Station currently has vacancies for daytime, on-call firefighters.
The fire station is interested in anyone who would be willing to provide daytime cover for the service and is inviting people to get in touch.
A daytime, on-call firefighter is a member of the service who gets paid to respond to emergencies but they do not staff the stations 24 hours a day like full-time firefighters.
They are notified of an emergency call via a personal pager, which they carry with them when they are on duty.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire Service (MAWW) said: “Our 700 on-call firefighters operate 90 percent of our fire appliances.
"In our service, 75 percent of our fire stations are crewed entirely by on-call firefighters. They protect our small towns and rural communities.
“To ensure we can keep protecting your community the service is looking to recruit more on-call firefighters.”
Some on-call firefighters have other jobs with an agreement from their employers to leave to attend an emergency call if required, while others are available outside typical working hours like evenings, weekends or between school runs.
MAWW said on-call firefighters are “an essential part of our service”.
The service also noted that the role can go beyond battling fires.
The spokesperson added: “A firefighter’s role is not only to fight fires or to react to other emergencies. Firefighters also deliver important safety advice to schools and communities. This can include, conducting fire safety checks for homes and businesses.
“Some of our stations also offer co-responder support to the ambulance service. In rural locations, co-responders can be first on the scene at a medical emergency. This allows our trained firefighters to provide essential medical care on behalf of the ambulance service.”
Machynlleth Fire Station is inviting anyone who is interested to call in at the station any Tuesday night between 6pm and 8.30pm to meet the crew, who can provide all the necessary details.
