A CAR caught fire causing a major accident near Builth Wells earlier today (Tuesday, July 25).
Three vehicles were involved in the accident on the A470 at 8.45am causing disruptions to traffic on the second day of this year's Royal Welsh Show.
Emergency services were called to the scene.
Dyfed Powys Police closed the road in both directions leading to traffic delays for those travelling to the Royal Welsh Show.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Officers are at the scene of a collision on the A470 between Erwood and Builth Wells, with one car on fire, following a report approximately 8.45am."

The force advised motorists to find an alternative route with people heading to the show being sent through a diversion via Erwood Bridge with an hour being added to people’s journeys.
The accident was considered very serious with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirming that they had to extinguish one car and had to assist removing a patient from a vehicle.
A spokesperson for the service said: "At 8:53 on Tuesday, July 25, crews from Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells Fire Stations attended a road traffic collision incident at Erwood Bridge to Hay Road, Builth Wells.
"Three private motor vehicles were involved, one vehicle was well alight but fully extinguished by crews on the scene.
"Fire service personnel assisted the ambulance service with removing one patient from a vehicle.
"Crews left the scene at 10.25am."
The condition of those involved is unclear at this time.
