A POWYS man has pleaded guilty to a string of historic sex offences and is due to be sentenced later this year.
Ivor John Sheppard, 75, appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday, July 21, where he admitted a total of seven offences against him. The earliest dates back to 1962, when he was a teenager.
Sheppard, of Old Hall Legar, near Llanidloes, denied another six offences, which the court said are to lie on file.
The offences Sheppard pleaded guilty to are five counts of indecent assault. These all took place between March 31, 1986, and April 1, 1995.
Another charge of indecent assault on a male took place between January 21, 1962, and July 20, 1965. A seventh guilty plea relates to an offence of indecency with a child between January 21, 1962, and July 20, 1966.
The not guilty pleas all also relate to offences of indecent assault, said to have taken place between 1965 and 2004.
Sheppard is due to be sentenced at Merthyr on September 8.
