Girl Guides in Newtown have been enjoying snacks outside thanks to a new picnic bench donated by local freemasons.
Cedewain Lodge of Freemasons 1594 members Colin and Christine Evans arranged a donation of an eight-seater picnic bench for the Girlguiding units who meet at Treowen Community Hall.
Cheryl Jarman, leader, said: “We are really thankful to the Freemasons members for funding this bench and to Colin for putting it together.
“The girls love it and enjoy having snacks outside sitting on it, these types of funding help us to provide a range of activities at the hall and it will benefit other service users.
