A POWYS teenager is to put forward a special reasons argument after he pulled over in his car while over the drink drive limit.
Ellis Wyn Roberts, 18, was found to have 66 micrograms of alcohol in his breath when he was spoken to by police while driving a red Ford Fiesta outside the Kings Head Hotel in Meifod on June 24. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Roberts, of Abernodwydd, Llangadfan, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 11, where he entered a guilty plea to drink driving.
However, the case was adjourned as the court heard that the defendant intends to put forward a special reasons argument.
Rob Hanratty, representing Roberts, said his client had only driven a matter of metres after being asked to move his car by someone wearing a high vis jacket.
The case was adjourned, with Roberts to appear again before the court on September 20.
