An Armed Forces veteran accused of assaulting a man outside an Aldi supermarket in a Powys town has been told that he will have to wait an extra three months for his trial to go ahead.
David John Rawsthorne denies causing actual bodily harm to Karl Evans at the store in Llandrindod Wells on Guy Fawkes Day 2021.
His case was heard before a judge at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday, June 30.
Her Honour Judge Catherine Richards relisted the trial, which was planned to begin this week, for September 18.
Rawsthorne, who is 47 years old and lives in Tremont Road, Llandrindod Wells, pleaded not guilty at an earlier hearing in October 2022. He denied the charge of assault on Karl Evans, occasioning him actual bodily harm which is said to have happened outside the spa town’s Aldi store on November 5 in 2021.
He was granted unconditional bail until his next appearance in court.
