A Powys man has appeared in court accused of carrying a knife and threatening violence in Shrewsbury town centre.
Wayne Butler, aged 36, of Valentine Court, Llanidloes faces two charges which relate to an alleged incident in the Bellstone area of the Shropshire town on May 20 last year.
Butler gave no pleas to the charges of affray and possession of a knife in a public place when he appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Friday, June 20.
His Honour Judge Anthony Lowe told Butler that his case would be adjourned for nine weeks while reports are carried out by his legal team.
The judge renewed Butler's bail and told him that he must return to Shrewsbury Crown Court on September 1.
