This year’s Builth Wells Fest Carnival has been described as the “most successful to date”.
Organisers of the event have said that this year’s carnival, which kicked off on June 17, was resounding triumph being described as “our best, most successful Carnival to date.”
One of the organisers of the week, Rachael Hughes said that over the week “the sun was shining and the town was buzzing”.
“We were overwhelmed with the turnout of people attending the carnival and the efforts made for floats, fancy dress and craft entries – we only hope that we will have the same or more next year.”
Events took place over the year to raise money for carnival week by holding fundraisers throughout the year such as the annual Christmas fair, comedy nights and quizzes.
Over the course of the week, there were fun games and competition held for people of all ages including best dressed shop window display, best adult and children’ floats, best toilet Roll Animal, best knitted animal and best fancy dressed awards for people and groups.

There was the crowning of the King and Queen of this year's carnival with Corey Evans and Cleo Price picking up the respective titles.
“It really was such a fantastic week. We look forward to our next event which will be our Annual duck race and BBQ held at Builth Wells Football Club Bank Holiday, Sunday August 27,” added Ms Hughes.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helps in some way (too many to mention) but especially to our small group of volunteers who form the Builth Fest committee you do an amazing Job! and work hard all year round.
“We are always so grateful and overwhelmed at the support and people who attended the carnival and its week’s events – we hope that we will have another successful year of events and carnival 2024.”
