As residents of Aberystwyth we regularly stop at Newtown on our travels and were delighted that on our visit on the 3rd/4th June coincided with the Oriel Davies “Piano Weekend”.
How lucky Newtown is to have such a wonderful asset as is the Oriel Davies and Stuart Jones Pianos in the same town, who were able to provide the grand piano for the weekend.
It was a very exciting weekend and visitors had chosen to come on both days to support the event plus lots of mums and babies on the Saturday- and a quick comment to other recital goers after Paul’s recital as to the gallery holding a similar weekend next year the comment was made - “why wait until next year”.

A wonderful occasion that was supported by many Newtown residents and an incredible opportunity for young pianists to play for the public.
The gallery lends itself to small intimate recitals of all music disciplines - and in the words from one of Chris Daughtry’s songs “This could be the start of something good”. A huge thank you to all involved
