One of the Love Island villa stars has a surprising link to a local sports star.
Scott van-der-Sluis landed in the villa last week. The goalkeeper for League of Ireland team, Shelbourne FC, made headlines for giving up his professional contract to find love on the show.
Damien Duff, Head Coach, Shelbourne FC said: "I was shocked and saddened that Scott chose a villa in Mallorca full of beautiful, single women over myself, the staff and the players.”

What is less well-known is that Scott has a relative who enjoyed success in the Welsh Leagues playing for The New Saints FC (TNS) and Newtown FC.
Jamie Reed a striker who has had a long playing career covering multiple teams in Wales, England and Australia is Scott’s older brother.

In his playing career saw him join TNS in 2015 from South Melbourne FC and then going on to join Newtown in 2017, where he made 24 appearances and scored 10 goals.
Jamie was delighted to see his younger brother join the show and said on Twitter “The lads going in at the right time” and later said he was proud of his brother so far.
