Two people are in a "stable" condition in hospital after a microlight aircraft lost power and crashed into a field between Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinion.
Emergency services rushed to the scene near the A458 near Cyfronydd which was closed on Tuesday evening (June 13) while they firefighters, police officers and paramedics dealt with the incident.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the two casualties were out of the aircraft when crews arrived at the scene and given first aid by firefighters while waiting for ambulances to arrive.
Dyfed-Powys Police said two people were in a "stable" condition in hospital.
Pictures shared from the crash show a light aircraft in a field near to a junction with the A458, and several fire and police vehicles responding to the incident.
A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "One microlight aircraft had lost power and collided with the ground.
"Two casualties were released from the aircraft prior to the crew’s arrival.
"The crew administered first aid while waiting for the ambulance service and assisted the ambulance crew in conveying the casualties to waiting ambulances.
"Dyfed-Powys Police were also in attendance and the nearby road was closed while the incident was ongoing."
Traffic Wales reported shortly after 9.20pm that the A458 between Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinion is closed in both directions. The road reopened at around 10.10pm.
