Welshpool’s Church House will be hosting the 2023 Welshpool Poetry Festival.
Returning for 2023 on Saturday, June 10, the event is a one day celebration of contemporary poetry that will feature workshops, live readings, open mic sessions and a poetry showcase.
Poets like Emily Berry, Jack Underwood, Ness Owen, Di Slaney and Clare Shaw will be leading the workshops and performing live readings at the festival.
Peter Edwards, Festival Curator, said: “In 2023 you can sign up to get bespoke feedback on that poem you believe in but which needs a little intense scrutiny to get it over the line.
“You can join in a workshop with a facilitator who I know will get you thinking and writing differently. You can take part in our free open mic, try out your work in front of a discerning audience, and mix with other poets just like you who enjoy sharing and appreciating poetry.
“Then we round off the day with five very different, exciting, exceptional headline poets in a Poetry Showcase to rival any you’ll see at festivals across the country.”
