NEARLY £1,000 was raised when Builth Male Voice Choir performed with two local soloists at a concert in Aberedw last month.
The concert took place on Sunday, May 7, at St Cewydd’s Church, Aberedw. The concert raised £900 which was shared equally between the church and Aberedw, Rhulen and Llanbadarn Sports Committee.
The choir was led by musical director Adrian Morgan together with accompanist Ann Bufton. The choir programme included both traditional music such as the hymns Morte Criste and Bryn Myrddin and choir exclusive arrangements of modern songs such as You are the Reason, made famous by Callum Scott.

The choir was assisted by the wonderful acoustics that the church building provides and the enthusiastic audience members heard the choir at its best. David Power compered and kept the audience and choir entertained throughout the evening.
The first local soloist to perform was Megan Preece who accompanied herself more than adequately, singing blues songs. Later in the concert Clare Butterfield Elsie provided some accomplished operatic singing including Handel’s Largo.
