A BMW driver caught driving at more than 110mph along the Newtown Bypass has been banned from the roads for eight weeks.
Gordon Rupert Spear, 67, of Ffordd Croesawdy, Newtown, was caught speeding at 111mph on March 5.
Spear, who was driving a BMW 3 Series saloon car, was 51mph over the speed limit when he was travelling just after 11.30am along the central section of the A483 Newtown Bypass.
Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 24, was told that Spear pleaded guilty to exceeding the 60mph speed limit.
Magistrates decided to ban Spear from driving for 56 days for the dangerous speed.
The Newtown man was also ordered to pay £470 in total for the fine, a £188 victim surcharge and court costs of £90.
