Powys residents were evacuated from their homes on Tuesday night after a suspicious substance was discovered at a property in the town.
Police confirmed they carried out a search warrant at a property in the Kings Head Lane area of Builth Wells on Tuesday evening, May 23, where a dangerous substance was discovered, resulting in the evacuation of several residents living in close proximity to the address concerned.
“Police carried out a planned search warrant at a property in Kings Head Lane, Builth Wells, on Tuesday evening, May 23, 2023,” said Dyfed Powys Police in a statement.
“During a search of the property a suspicious substance was discovered and a number of neighbouring residents were evacuated as a precaution.
“Specialists attended to safely dispose of the substance and residents returned to their homes in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, May 24.
“Police would like to thank residents for their patience. No arrests have been made at this time.”
