Original cast members from the hit comedy series ‘Allo, Allo’ are set to descend on Welshpool later this year as part of the town’s 1940s Weekend.

Guy Domville Siner, Kim Lesley Hartman and Richard Gibson, known for playing Gruber, Helga and Herr Flick will be in Welshpool mixing with revellers and signing autographs on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1.

‘Allo Allo’ was a British sitcom, created by David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd, that was broadcast on BBC1 from 1982 to 1992.

The series, starring Gorden Kaye, Carmen Silvera, Guy Siner and Richard Gibson, focussed on the life of a French café owner in the town of Nouvion, during the German occupation of France in the Second World War.

OTHER NEWS:

Unlike other sitcoms of the era, which mainly focussed on standalone stories in each episode from week to week, ‘Allo Allo’ featured overarching storylines across multiple episodes. These stories saw problems from a dishonest German officer, local French Resistance, the handling of a stolen painting and a pair of trapped airmen.

All three actors were regular cast members for the show’s run, as well as a number of other performances fans might recognise them from.

County Times:

As the local Gestapo officer Herr Otto Flick, David Gibson served as one of the sitcom’s main antagonists.

Guy Siner, best known for his role as Lieutenant Hubert Gruber, has also featured in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and David Lynch’s surrealist horror film ‘Lost Highway’.

Best known for her role as Private Helga Geerhart, Kim Hartman has also acted in classic BBC dramas like ‘Casulaty’ and ‘Grange Hill’.
