Council workers are set to return to Newtown next week to fix new speed bumps that have been criticised for being “so high”.
An “urgent” road closure along a section of Heol Treowen near Kerry Road will be in place for two days.
County councillor Joy Jones said she’s received many complaints about the height of the new speed bumps.
Cllr Jones recently told Newtown residents: “I will continue to raise and fight this issue as it doesn’t feel right and we need it changed.”
Powys County Council has since announced that staff will carry out “remedial resurfacing” from 7.30am to 6pm on Monday (May 15) and Tuesday (May 16).
Motorists have been told that they face a three-mile detour from Kerry Road to Heol Treowen via the Newtown Bypass while there is a road closure.
“Let’s hope this resolves the problem of them being so high,” Cllr Jones said.
