A car park in Newtown is now closed as preparation work begins to remove and replace a nearby railway track.
The popular car park used by commuters at Newtown Railway Station is closed and fenced off for around a month.
National Rail workers are set to remove and replace the track for around three-quarters of a mile on either side of the station near the Pryce Jones building.
The railway line will be closed from Machynlleth to Shrewsbury while the work is carried out from Friday, May 5, and Monday, May 22, with buses replacing train travel.

Other works along the Cambrian Line during that time include refurbishing the Severn and Carno Viaduct which Network Rail says will make journeys "more reliable" for passengers.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: "We are working on multiple sites along the Cambrian line between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth to improve the resilience of the railway and the reliability of services.
“The main works will be happening from Friday, May 5, to Monday, May 22, and the railway will be closed throughout this time from Machynlleth to Shrewsbury.
"The main work that we will be doing is Severn and Carno Viaduct – refurbishment work on the viaduct that carries the railway across the River Severn in Caersws.
“It will involve removing and replacing timber beams, selected piles, crossheads and metallic straps. The work will help us remove a temporary speed restriction which will make journeys more reliable for passengers
"During the core works buses will replace trains between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth calling at Welshpool, Newtown and Caersws from Saturday, May 6, to Sunday, May 21.
"We advise passengers planning to travel by train on these dates, please check before travelling at www.journeycheck.com/tfwrail/"
