A Newtown choir had the honour of performing in front of record crowd when Wales took on World Rugby’s number one ranked women’s side England in the Six Nations.
Wales Women’s hopes of securing a rare Triple Crown in the Six Nations were dashed as England remained on course for a Grand Slam with a 59-3 victory at a packed-out Cardiff Arms Park.
A New Dynamic spokesperson said: “Performing to a sell-out crowd on a glorious sunny day, it was a memorable day for the whole choir, and an experience they hope to be able to repeat again in the future.”
The choir were joined on the pitch by four south Wales-based choirs – Côr Tadau Trisant, Côr y Gleision and the Richard Williams Singers.

Under the baton of Dr Haydn James, and accompanied by the Regimental Band of the Royal Welsh, the choirs performed several Welsh popular songs including Rachie, Calon Lan, Sosban Fach, Hymns and Arias and Cwm Rhondda, as well as the national anthems of England and Wales.
This was New Dynamic’s first performance since their Christmas concert at the Crescent Christian Centre, Newtown in December, where £800 was raised for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity Trust.
The choir is now looking forward to their next concert which will be held at The Monty Club, Newtown on Saturday, June 17.
